[What would rule enforcement even look like in this place? "No sex after 9:45 PM except in the missionary position?" "You must gargle with mouthwash two times after oral?"]
Very funny, but that's not at all what I meant!
I'm done talking to staff. They've all proven utterly useless. It's time I talked to someone who has real stakes in this place, so I guess it's back to that trash heap on the 16th floor. I was there last night, but I didn't get to meet with him.
Well, there's a difference between simply being a performer and being as popular as we are. If you're talking about prestige, we have that in spades. And I'd say we have more power than most units, if only because of our producer. He's the sort who's always up to his eyeballs in schemes. What he desires isn't just popularity, but more like world domination!
Which makes the situation even more concerning, really. He has a large information network, and I'm sure he's using up all his resources to track us down. If he hasn't found the place yet, then it truly must be well-hidden.
and you're sure that he hasn't given up and wouldn't give up. and that you're not easily replaced in whatever you're doing?
going to be honest, i never heard of you before coming here. so i don't know how credible you are when it comes to these kinds of matters same could be said about my heritage but i've never banked on it, and i don't want to.
And I've never heard of any lion prince or any "Sunset Savanna," so I'd say that makes us even!
We may not be too close, but we *are* a part of the same family. I'd say I know him better than you do, anyway. And there's someone else I'm sure would never give up on looking me. Someone whose hand I promised never to let go of. I'm sure he knows I wouldn't leave him by choice.
But since I can't rely on the other members to rescue me, I'll just have to rescue myself. First thing's first, though - do you think there's some magic charm keeping this place undetectable? Is that why no one can find it?
exactly we're both even in the sense of neither of us knowing anything about where we both come from. interesting how that works, huh?
anyway. i can't tell if there is magic involved. and if there is, it's not the kind i'm aware of it could be easily be some kind of technology that surpasses our understanding could be a mixture of both i can only make so many assumptions and i'm going to also assume i'm probably wrong, too.
[He's had that thought before. They have something like that at home, actually. He's just never had a turn with it or really paid much attention to that stuff. It sucks to acknowledge, but he's very in over his head here.]
What kinds of magic are there, anyway? Is it light magic versus dark magic? Or is it a "some people use earth magic, some people use wind magic, some people shoot fire, and some control water!" type of deal?
i guess if you want to boil it down to something that simple, sure but nothing is that simple around here other than the game's rules.
when it comes to magic, there's a lot. you have practical magic, ancient magic. protective. curses. elemental magic is also a thing. void, too. but you have to learn and practice and hone your use of it.
I won't ask you to explain all that stuff. That'd take forever and I know you prefer to lounge around, so you probably wouldn't do it even if I did ask. I just have one more question.
Is the ability something you're born with? Or can someone learn from scratch if they put in proper effort?
[ wow, he knows leona so well... he's already lounging around already. just loafing in a particularly soft spot of grass somewhere in one of the more natural looking areas, happy to be surrounded by green. ]
you either have it or you don't. there are plenty of magical and non-magical people that live in my world. but the potential is wasted if you don't work hard to develop it
Alright, that first thing tells me everything I need to know.
But that's fine. I don't need to learn magic; I'm perfect just as I am! Plus it might distract from my idol work, so this might be for the best anyway.
[He'll just have to gather other people who can do it and rely on them to bust him out of here! Or serve as meat shields, in case things go south before then.]
Yes, that's what you said, so that's what I meant! You said "you either have it or you don't," so I decided I don't need it anyway! Simple as that!
But are there now? Do they use it in their performances? I know a few idols like that back home, but it's less real magic in their case, and more optical illusions plus silly outfits.]
to be honest? wasn't paying that much attention to the last competition. but nah, they don't. they rely on their movements and singing and stuff like that. was too busy working lights and sound and also trying to take a nap.
We might, since Leo-kun suggested forming a shuffle unit! He said he'd take care of the music and I could take care of the other stuff! I'll admit the idea does hold some appeal, since I don't like going too long without being onstage. Plus I'll get rusty if I don't sing at all, and I've heard you can collect tips that way!
Though I'm still not sure how I feel about performing for a bunch of brainwashed shop clerks and embarrassing nouveau riche types. That's not my ideal audience at all, I'm afraid. But I'm sure the other hostages could use some cheering up!
Leo-kun, Rinne-senpai, and of course, Jun-kun! I'm not sure how we'll sound together, but there's nothing we can do but try our best. As far as cheering someone up goes, songs are usually more effective than a pep talk, at least in my experience. They're what you'd call a universal language.
Though I do give wonderful pep talks, too, of course. Just ask Jun-kun!
[ closes eyes. he haunts me everywhere i go... am i being blessed or cursed, who's to say ]
well. i guess i can't say i wouldn't mind hearing what you all sound like together. but i feel bad for your jun if he's the one who has to be on the receiving end of your pep talks.
Like I said, my talks aren't bad! There was one time when he got hired to play the lead role in a stage production, which was a bit out of his wheelhouse. He looked a little lost while he was trying to "get in character," so I gave him a wonderful talk to boost his confidence!
But anyway, since you'll already be attending our show to hear what we sound like, why not use some of that sound and lighting expertise for our benefit? Those who work behind the scenes are equally as important. It's thanks to them that we can shine our very brightest ✨
Though I don't really know what our stage, sound system, or live show will look like yet, so I suppose there's no need to make a commitment now. Just give it some thought, OK?
