And I've never heard of any lion prince or any "Sunset Savanna," so I'd say that makes us even!
We may not be too close, but we *are* a part of the same family. I'd say I know him better than you do, anyway. And there's someone else I'm sure would never give up on looking me. Someone whose hand I promised never to let go of. I'm sure he knows I wouldn't leave him by choice.
But since I can't rely on the other members to rescue me, I'll just have to rescue myself. First thing's first, though - do you think there's some magic charm keeping this place undetectable? Is that why no one can find it?

[Oh dear. He hasn't even seen everything yet, and he already boasts that he can handle it...]
Very well. [Shalem gives Leona's cheek a pinch before he pulls away and sits up to remove his shirt and tie his hair back properly, sweeping that unruly lavender length away into a higher tail.
Now Leona can see just what's under his clothing. Scarred skin stretched over muscles honed not for vanity but for strength.]

Like an advanced VR system?
[He's had that thought before. They have something like that at home, actually. He's just never had a turn with it or really paid much attention to that stuff. It sucks to acknowledge, but he's very in over his head here.]
What kinds of magic are there, anyway? Is it light magic versus dark magic? Or is it a "some people use earth magic, some people use wind magic, some people shoot fire, and some control water!" type of deal?

A variety, huh.
I won't ask you to explain all that stuff. That'd take forever and I know you prefer to lounge around, so you probably wouldn't do it even if I did ask. I just have one more question.
Is the ability something you're born with? Or can someone learn from scratch if they put in proper effort?

Yes, you could say that. [Shalem would argue that while he's not an expert or anything, he does endeavour to do his best by his partner. He adjusts himself so he's hovering just above Leona, and within kissing range.
Because of course they'll still have to do that.
He rubs Leona's cheek again... but moves downward this time, brushing a thumb over the hollow of his throat before kneading at one pec.]
What was it that you said earlier? You're... fragile?
This doesn't look fragile to me.

Alright, that first thing tells me everything I need to know.
But that's fine. I don't need to learn magic; I'm perfect just as I am! Plus it might distract from my idol work, so this might be for the best anyway.
[He'll just have to gather other people who can do it and rely on them to bust him out of here! Or serve as meat shields, in case things go south before then.]

Yes, that's what you said, so that's what I meant! You said "you either have it or you don't," so I decided I don't need it anyway! Simple as that!
But are there now? Do they use it in their performances? I know a few idols like that back home, but it's less real magic in their case, and more optical illusions plus silly outfits.]
[Sorry, Switch. And sorry, Tsumugi-kun.]

We might, since Leo-kun suggested forming a shuffle unit! He said he'd take care of the music and I could take care of the other stuff! I'll admit the idea does hold some appeal, since I don't like going too long without being onstage. Plus I'll get rusty if I don't sing at all, and I've heard you can collect tips that way!
Though I'm still not sure how I feel about performing for a bunch of brainwashed shop clerks and embarrassing nouveau riche types. That's not my ideal audience at all, I'm afraid. But I'm sure the other hostages could use some cheering up!

[Shalem gives Leona's abs a pat, before reaching for the lion's legs to spread them.]
You'll do well, I think. [Well, relatively speaking. Not many people can handle Shalem right off the bat.
It's his turn, however, and he removes the rest of his own clothing, revealing just what he's managed to hide in his trousers. He's a grower, all right, not a shower. If he was the latter, he would never have any trousers that fit.]

[Two inboxes just wasn't enough for him, huh.]
Leo-kun, Rinne-senpai, and of course, Jun-kun! I'm not sure how we'll sound together, but there's nothing we can do but try our best. As far as cheering someone up goes, songs are usually more effective than a pep talk, at least in my experience. They're what you'd call a universal language.
Though I do give wonderful pep talks, too, of course. Just ask Jun-kun!
